I grew up on the western slope of Colorado in Montrose as one of four children. My Bachelor's and Master's degrees are both from the University of Colorado and I am proud to be a Buffalo regardless of how the football team is performing. My wife is also a middle school band director in Thornton. My two children both attend Douglass Elementary School. This is my twelfth year at Platt Middle School and I also teach at Douglass and Heatherwood Elementary Schools. I am a saxophonist first and foremost but I play a little bit of everything including the banjo and mandolin. Besides making music, I also love hanging out with my family, fly fishing, and tinkering as an amateur carpenter.
