Science

Every year our students participate in our Great Pumpkin Drop in order to demonstrate a variety of scientific principles.  Although this year we were in a virtual setting, our teachers created a video in order to engage students in the scientific process.

The study of science at Platt Middle School is a highly active and challenging process. Problem-solving is how scientists make new and amazing discoveries about the world. At Platt, you are the scientist, so it is your job to solve problems as they arise! How do you do this? In your science classes, you will practice through "hands on and minds on " inquiry. This means you will be experiencing the world in order to learn about it. You will ask and answer questions, discuss, collaborate with scientists in all grades, design, ponder, experiment, play, think and do the work of scientists. During your three years as a Platt Scientist, you will endeavor to answer the essential question: How Does Science Reveal the Magic of Reality to You? Start thinking now!
