Special Education
In BVSD we are dedicated to supporting every student so they ultimately become successful adults, who are engaged in our community. We begin with differentiating instruction for every student and then work with students and parents to provide additional accommodations, modifications and services for those who need it.
Platt has two levels of programming to support students with disabilities where we focus on academic and social emotional skill building. We believe strongly in inclusion and equity throughout all of our programs.
- Resource Level - students receive support/instruction from a case manager through academic support classes (ASC)
- Intensive Learning Center (ILC) - students receive more intensive support from our ILC team
Peer Tutoring Program
Platt is home to an extensive peer tutoring program. As an elective course, students can choose to be a peer tutor where they learn the skills to foster symbiotic relationship with an emphasis on inclusion that is equally rewarding for all.
