Contacting a Counselor
Students can access their counselors by emailing them or filling out a form in the Counseling office. Sometimes students just stop by and, if available, counselors can talk with them immediately. Student's are often referred to the Counseling office by teachers or Administration. View the Meet Our Counselor page for counselor's contact information. Students/parents can email their counselors with concerns, appointments, or schedule change request.
We do not call home every time we talk with a student. However, if we feel that the matter is important we will call contact parents and guardians together with the student, contact parents separately via email or phone call. We are open to meeting with parents at any time about any concern.
Complaints about Bullying or Harassment
If a counselor receives a complaint from a student or parent/guardian, who feels their student or another student are being bullied or harassed, we investigate this complaint by having the student fill out a report, interviewing all parties involved and report it to parents as well as our administrators, who in turn, notify the District offices. Consequences for bullying and harassment are handled by the Principal and Assistant Principal, not the Counselors.
